Abstract submission guidelines

PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ADDITION TO SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT THROUGH THE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION SYSTEM, YOU WILL BE ASKED AT THE END OF THE PROCESS TO UPLOAD A PDF VERSION USING THE TEMPLATE PROVIDED IN THE NEXT SECTION.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT.

  • All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and should not have been published elsewhere in a peer-reviewed journal.

  • Authors will be notified of the abstract acceptance/rejection no later than March 13, 2017.

  • All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English with a quality of spelling and grammar suitable for publication. If English is not your native language, please ask a qualified colleague, a university scientific publications office (or other similar facility) or a copy editor to review your abstract prior to submission.

  • Applicants should indicate the format they would prefer to present their abstracts:
  1. Oral: Oral presentations will be 10 minutes with 5 minutes for questions. Spaces are limited. Those who are not successful in securing an oral presentation will be offered to present their abstract in a poster format.
  2. Poster: A traditional paper poster. Presenters will be asked to be available to answer questions during a dedicated poster viewing time.
  • There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author may submit, however, an author may only appear as presenting author on two (2) abstract submissions. The presenting author must attend the congress and be available to give the oral presentation or to present the poster.

  • Only abstracts of presenting authors who have paid their early bird registration fee by April 2, 2017 will be scheduled for presentation and published on-line in the CMReJournal.

  • Abstract title is limited to 20 words and should be in upper case.

  • Each abstract should be a maximum of 350 words (excluding title and authors) and should consist of four (4) sections:
  1. Background and objectives
  2. Methods
  3. Results
  4. Conclusions
  • Word count is affected when tables or figures are added. An abstract can have a maximum of two (2) tables and/or figures. Each table and figure counts for 75 words. Figures and tables must be included in the abstract template provided in the next section.

  • Applicants should categorise their abstract based on one (1) of the topics provided in the abstract submission system. The list is available in the Abstract Topics section.
